Queer Collectivity as Speculation, Unionization as Mediation

Noam Youngrak Son

Archive context

This essay analyzes queer collective practice through historical materialist frameworks, arguing that under financialized capitalism the speculative energy of queer sociality becomes subsumed into platform-like infrastructures that transform collective labor into value. It introduces the concept of the founder class and proposes the Queer Collective Workers’ Union as a mediating form capable of reintroducing antagonism into a field where labor has been cancelled and replaced by the rhetoric of autonomy, friendship, and representation.
